ZeRo's Initial Impressions
For super smash brothers ultimate, the game is young and the meta will certainly evolve beyond that it is...which is basically non-existent or based off of prior versions of smash.
Meanwhile, just to get our feet wet, let's take a look at ZeRo's tier list, a player who's been a the top of the rankings for smash games for Wii U for a long time.
While this likely won't be how things shake out in the end, it's certainly good to see what other players are expecting to be strong in the game.

Thoughts on ZeRo's Tier List
It looks like ZeRo's placing a lot of the swordsmen very high up along with a lot of the other fast characters with strong projectiles. Generally speaking, based on his list it looks like he expects characters with a good balance of camp skills and close-range combat to perform best.
It's somewhat surprising to see Mewtwo high up on his list, but I think that he expects Mewtwo to perform very similarly to the swordsmen due to his tail range, but also have a built in long-range attack as well.
